Any fans of Final Fantasy Tactics here?

I first played FFT on the PS1 when a friend got me a pirate copy of the Japanese version before it was released in the west. I later imported an original US copy as the game was never released on the UK or Europe. It was probably the first game I played in this sudo SNES 16 bit graphical style strategy and got me into the genre, just as Final Fantasy 7 get everyone interested in JRPGs. I went on to play many other games with similar styles such as Tactics Ogre, Suikoden, Vandal-Hearts, Hoshigami etc. A lot of them US NTSC imports.

Final Fantasy Tactics has been updated and ported to different platforms over the years with the Gameboy Advance version being very good, and the newest FINAL FANTASY TACTICS - The Ivalice Chronicles on PC, PS5 and Xbox and Switch (which is great as it gives the game to everyone regardless of platform.

I've been playing FINAL FANTASY TACTICS - The Ivalice Chronicles on the PS5 on and off lately and enjoying it just as much as I did originally. Some of the battles can be a bit long winded when you know you are going to easily win them, but you still have to go through all the motions to achieve the victory, but it's still great.

I also have the remake of Tactics Ogre Reborn to play after I complete FFT. If you didn't know Tactic Ogre came first and the same developer (Matsuno) then made Final Fantasy Tactics after he had left Quest and joined Square. This is why their style and design is very similar. If you have played FFT but not Tactics Ogre I highly recommend it. Tactics Ogre Reborn is actually based on the already updated and improved Sony PSP version that was released in 2010. That was a very good version for the handheld, and the new Reborn version is even better. Some argue that Tactics Ogre is the better game than Final Fantasy Tactics. I would say Tactics Ogre is probably harder. FFT is more character driven and focused on the jobs system, whereas Tactics Ogre has large scale battles. Both are from the same developer and both equally great and worth playing if you like SRPGs. Both do require a lot of time and devotion though and a good strategy guide helps a lot.
