If you had to pick just one song

If you could only pick a single song to portray the type of music you have listened to throughout your whole life, that captures the emotion and feeling when you listen to music, what would that single track be?

For me it's Pink Floyd's Pulse concert live, Comfortably Numb.

It contains arguably the greatest guitar solo of all time, by the brilliant David Gilmore. You can feel his emotion through the guitar and he takes the original album track and just expands and blows it away. And out of all the albums I've bought throughout my live The Wall is probably the one I've listened to more than any other.

Another guitar solo that comes very close to this was from another live performance. When George Harrison was being posthumously inducted to the hall of fame, Price playing the solo at the end of While my Guitar Gently Weeps. If you have never seem and listened to this you need to take a look on Youtube. It's an amazing moment in history, just as Pink Floyd live was.

If you haven't played a classic game in years, it's never too late to start!

When we were in Cyprus last year we went to the Cyprus Rocks open air concert next to the sea, we only arrived the last day in Cyprus and went to the last concert, I think it's going on for 6-7 days, a VERY british thing, as there are mostly british cover bands playing, the best of them, and when we went there was Jimmy Hendrix Experience, Very Santana and Brit Floyd, they were amazing.

It's difficult to name one song, but I always have my top five albums which I would take to an island, youth stuff obviously like Deep Purple's Made in Japan, any Suicidal Tendencies album, some stoner rock like Kyuss or perhaps Monster Magnet, Exodus' Bonded by blood and probably Fukpig just to get that fire working *shit****comeonnow*****

Probably miss some, I would have to think too much about it now.

Totally agree. Deep Purple were brilliant. When I was young my Dad worked in Southampton Docks and must have mentioned to one of the truckers that I was into heavy rock and metal. He gave my dad an original tape of their album Machine Head and said I really need to listen to it. Brilliant album with the track Smoke on the Water,

Suicidal Tendencies. I've not listened to them for 20+ years. I saw them supporting Slayer in the early 90s in Portsmouth. Brilliant concert, but I couldn't hear for days! Must have a listen to both when I get time.

The machine head album from Purple is just brilliant from start to finish. The drum solo is fantastic if i remember correctly is in the song the mule. And highway star is one of my all time favorites.
Suicidal i saw them in lisbon in 93 as guests in a metallica concert.
Your dad worked in southampthon dock? We were talking about floyd, there is a song in the final cut album were Roger sings about it.
