    Game walkthroughs and guides

Do you ever use game guides and walkthroughs?

I'm a bit of a completist for Adventures and RPGs so I tend to have the guide for the game to hand and double check the area I'm in is fully complete before I move on. Nothing more annoying than missing a secret or rare item. But I don't like to outright cheat with guides. I only use them to make sure I've not missed something or if I'm really stuck and can't progress.

I used to buy the official guides from BradyGames and Prima, especially Final Fantasy and other Squaresoft games. It's a shame there have stopped making them as I liked to have the book to go with the games. I've also always using GameFAQs (where a lot of us originally met). Invaluable walkthroughs when you are stuck or just want to be a completist with a game.

The most recent guide I used was for Disaster Report 4 on the Playstation. It's quite a big adventure game and you can move through the areas without triggering whole story arc events and missing big chunks of the story (if you don't trigger certain events, the rest of the events don't happen later in the game).

I also use the Minecraft Dungeons guides a lot with my son to go back through levels to find all the secrets. That's great fun and is good to get him to play multiplayer. Also for weapon and armour hunting to try and find the best sets.

I also use guides and walkthroughs if I decide to replay a game I've completed in the past. I've done that a couple of times for Zelda games and point and click adventures, just because I wanted to replay the story and get through the game without needing to remember or work out everything again.

If you haven't played a classic game in years, it's never too late to start!

I own over hundred of those Prima and Bradygames guides, very nice collection, used them a lot at that time, playing with the guide on my lap.

Nowadays I just Alt-TAB to some walkthrough site online, checking in case I'm stuck, or I just use the iPad.

I use if i get stuck somewhere. I avoid looking at guides but i dont have any problem in use them.
This years i play to relax and to enjoy, i dont care about cheats guides as long as i enjoy it.
If i am not liking a game i dont finished it, even if it was expensive, i dont care. I want to relax and have a good time that is the most important.
