Do you opt for the easy option or a tough challenge?

When playing a game these days do you go for the Easy level of difficulty or look for a challenge?

Do you go for the easy way just to experience the story or to see the whole game and all it's levels?

Or do you like the challenge of learning the levels and the sense of achievement in mastering it and reaching the end?

If you haven't played a classic game in years, it's never too late to start!

If it's a game like Pacman then I like the challenge.. as is true for most original arcade games. The devs designed them well with a good challenge level that is normally always your fault when you fail.

I also tend to go for the normal difficulty for a lot of games, especially RTS and RPGs, as they often dial down more than the difficulty on easy mode so you miss some of the game.

But for others such as adventure games I sometimes pick easy mode just to enjoy the story without it being too difficult, especially if it's a game I've wanted to play for some time and it's been on my "games to play" list for some time. This is especially true of they are games I've had for years but never finished. Especially PS2 and PS3 games.

If it gets too difficult I don't mind dropping the difficulty to make it easier or just to get through the game. Or occasionally if I really want to see the whole game but just can't progress I will use a cheat, but that is rare.
