    Working only 75% now

Last year I went back to the doctors because of my back issues, started now with ISG syndrome. I then decided to apply for a visit to our own governement control doctors, usually they send you there if you don't show up for work regularly or are a lot on sick leaves, but you can also make a demand on your own, and that's what I did.

So I went twice to one of the work doctors and also to the control doctor and both said that considering my issues there's not gonna be a problem to apply for less work percentage wise.

So the commission then suggested that I would only work 75% instead of 100% and we all agreed on it. I thought it would perhaps be for a duration of 6 months or 1 year, but they said it's gonna be 75% until I get retired in around 7 years. Plus I'm also not gonna lose any money, my pay will exactly stay the same, like I would normally work 100%.

So from 1st of January this year I'm working like this, still 3 days home office per week, and I start at 6:30 in the morning until 12:30 and stop after 6 hours. I don't have those fixed hours to work, but my 2 colleagues like to come later, so I log in already at 6:30 to check what happened during the night or weekend, plus one of us has to stay until 17:00, so like this it's also perfect for them, they don't have to get up early, I can, and I have the whole afternoon off.

That's good that your work can accommodate that. Not many here in the UK can and we often have to go through a lot of complicated processes to get anywhere.

Do you work completely from home now or have to still go into work some times?

I had issues with my work because of my Asthma years ago and it was a very long winded process to even get them to acknowledge how bad my asthma was. Got it sorted in the end though.

If you haven't played a classic game in years, it's never too late to start!

Basically I work 3 days a week home and go only twice to office.

I don't remember how long the forum's were down, but end of 2023 I also had a trombosis and lung emboly, which was not nice and because of my girlfriend I kinda survived the thing, she immediately took me to hospital and there they told me that it was not 1 minute too early. Had to stay in cardiology for 4 days.

Because of that I have to take blood thinners for the rest of my life. Plus I got several other pills, at the moment I'm taking 5-6 pills per day.

Last Thursday, 12th of March, I had colon surgery, which I also should have done long time ago, but you know how it is, only gets done when it becomes absolutely necessary I'm still recovering at the moment, still quite painful, will be home until beginning of April.

Hello Demon, long time we didnt talk.
Just hope you get better. Are you doing physiotherapy? Any kind of surgery you can do to get better, at least ease the pain.

I don't need physiotherapy, I got 5 cortisone injections last year, and surgery isn't helping anymore. This ISG syndrome is because of my arthrodesis pushing down on it, remember I have from L3-S1 8 screws and 2 bars which fix the back, that is still holding, but because of age, it pushes down. Exercises help, but as you know, you only do them as long as it hurts, after that you stop, should do them all the time.
