That is true. You do feel teathered to the system. The PSVR2 is meant to have simplified cabling but I've not seen that yet.

Wireless VR is the ideal solution, but only the Quest 2 offers that at the moment. I still have a Samsung Gear VR that was Wireless because it uses a smartphone, but it was limited in what you could play on it, being Android based.

If you haven't played a classic game in years, it's never too late to start!

@DC. The release of X3 with so many bugs and issues did damage the franchise reputation. But they fixed it with updates and expansions. And initially X4 didn't feel like much of an upgrade, that's true. But the current version is good.

It is a bit of a learning curve true. Less arcade and more sim.

Now have you played Star Wars Squadrons? Not as great as the classic Xwing and Tiefigher PC games, but still a great fun arcade dog fighting game. And it's always great to be flying Xwings and Tie fighters.

I really wanted to try PS VR as I haven't had tried VR since a frankly disappointing go on a 'Virtuality' game at the Trocadero in the early 90s.... but never got round to it.

I got into Wipeout Omega on PS4 for a while, and I imagine would've rocked in VR mode.

The 90s VR units were a bit limiting. But revolutionary for their time. Did you know they were running on Aniga 3000s?

I've not actually tried Wipeout in VR. Will have to test that out when I get chance.

I did not know that. The only thing I really remember is the crushing disappointment.

I love me a bit of Wipeout though, and the soundtracks still bang.

Wipeout Omega collection is VR is quite mad. The track sections that fall away really give a sense of falling in your stomach, like a roller coaster. But other then that it isn't sick inducing because they did a clever thing, keeping your view parallel with the cockpit at all times to give you a centre.
