    MAME v180

    I was wondering if someone uses the merged sets? Does MAME support 7z? I still use the torrentzipped one, which is noticeably bigger.

    Yes, I've used the merged sets since they switched to them. The only downside is you can't as easily take games from the sets to use in other emulators. But it's easily enough these days to download new game sets for other emulators so not really an issue.

    They use torrentzip which utilises the 7z compression but is designed for partial updating of set updates, and makes it easier for the trackers to check file content and just update the differences.
