Beneath a steel sky was one of the games that stopped working half way through, which was again annoying. I hated this during amiga times, but then of course, I could have simple just bought the original Thus I never finished the game.

Beneath a Steel Sky was a great game. Shame you never got to finish it.

That definitely was annoying when a cracked game broke halfway through.

One game that did that to me was Nitro. I used to play that in 3 player mode with some friends, and sadly we all had copies from the same source. After a few levels the graphic blocks that made up the levels would loads in all the wrong places. It was funny trying to drive around the messed up courses though.

If you haven't played a classic game in years, it's never too late to start!

I tried Monkey Island and I remember the funny start to the game. It dont normaly play them as I tend to favour more action oriented games, but I love the humour.

    Bingo!

Monkey Island is a special game, funny, clever, a challenge, incredibly entertaining.

The Secret of Monkey Island is a great game, no doubt about that. I spent countless hours trying to complete the game many years ago. Still, there are so many excellent adventure games for the Amiga. We have titles such as Zak McKracken, The Flight of the Amazon Queen, Maniac Mansion, and so on. It's therefore very hard to choose just one title. Still, good old Monkey Island is something special, so I guess I'll go for this one like several others of you.

I guess I would also have to vote for Monkey Island. The humour, especially in the duelling, was first class, but the main thing was that it just looked great, sounded great and was easy to get into, yet hard to complete.

Another of my favourites was Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. Great graphics, great sound and an excellent storyline.

Oh, and this is my 50th post... YAY!!!

I seem to remember getting Operation Stealth free with a magazine, or it could of come free with a mouse. The magazine might of included a full walk through in the same issue, as I used it solidly to progress though the game.

Although I've never played adventurer games prior or afterwards, I considered it a pretty good point and click adventurer. I never did complete it, as the end stages required timing.

I'll stray from the norm here and mention Space Quest instead (even though I absolutely loved Monkey Island too). It's been a VERY long time since I last played it, but I remember playing the game together with my brother (at a time when our grasp of English was still tenuous, to say the least!), and having an absolute blast. Undoubtedly, a lot of the humour, the parodies and subtle references to other games/movies were lost to us, but man ... it was top notch fun. Felt like a real achievement too, when we finally completed the sucker

I loved Lure of the Temptress too, which has been mentioned a few times in this thread, but the game glitched prior to entering the castle part, and I never got to see the end.
