Hi,
i now have 2 laptops, and i do have a lot of files to pass from one to another.

So far i am using one external HD to do it, with transfer speeds that go to 30/35 mb/s.
It all depends of size of files, i do notice that:

1000 files with 1MB each take much more time then
1 file of 1Gb.

And since i do have a lot of small files, it takes a lot of time.

I try to transfer then in wireless using my router but it was much slower then the external HD.

What do you use for transfer files in you every day rotine?
If it is a small file i use a pen or even send the file to my mail, and read it in the other pc.

But sounds ridiculous to me not using the "home network", it exists for that, i guess. But wireless is to slow.
And wire, man, i don't like getting the cables all the time i need them. A cross cable is only one cable, and since i have the 2 laptops side by side, is easy and fast to connect a small cable to between them

Should i try:

1) with cross cable between the 2 laptops
2) with cables, each laptop to router (only want to do this for mass transfer files)
4) wireless? Maybe i had something wrong with settings, but speed was not higher then 10 mb/s
3) what is the average speed with cross cable?
