Getting 0ld0r is mandatory - Growing up is just an option.
Tbh, I have installed plenty of both modbo760 and modbo4 chips with v1.99 firmware and they all perform perfectly with backups.
if you are modding a slim ps2 I fully recomend the 760 as it is easier to fit within the limited space.

Which chip would you say it's better out of the 2? And are they the best of what's still available? Or are they all that's still available?

If you haven't played a classic game in years, it's never too late to start!
Slight snag. The Modbo 4.0 has 21 solder points yet the instructions for SCH79003 mobo has 23 points to solder to. More interesting is the Modbo 760 has 22 (an extra GND point) points to solder to. I am now very confunded.
Edit: Also two solder points on the modbo 4.0 do not have the relevant solder point on the diagramme (CX and 3.3v) and 4 solder points on the diagram (F, VCC, clk and GND2) do not appear on the Modbo. I think CX=CLK and 3.3v=VCC but I'm not sure.

TC should be able to answer that problem. I think he has modded quite a few PS2s in his time.

They both perform the same but I prefer the 760's as they are easier to fit inside, not much choice these days..
if you can pm me your email addy I will send you the correct wiring diagrams with CX and 3.3V
I was right about the 3.3=VCC and CX=CLK. The F is apparently optional for if you have a modchip with a F connection on. The only thing I'm not sure about is the 2nd GND but I think 2 wires need soldering to the GND on the Modbo 4.0. However it is becoming apparent that PS2 modchipping is way beyond my soldering talent so I may softmod or practice and practice until I'm better at soldering.
