    Snowbench desktop background

Does anyone remember a modified 1.X workbench background, with a gradient from dark blue to light blue, and little white snowflakes slowly falling in the background?

I got a modified workbench disk from someone in the early 90's called "Snowbench" that had this effect. I think I managed to eventually install it on my hard disk. I would like to get it again now in my WinUAE emulator, but I cannot find any mention of it by google.

How can I get Snowbench again?

    Thank you Amiga_Always.

The WBSnow tool in WBStars2 definitely resembles part of what I remember. That's great. Thank you for pointing out that WBStars2 also supports a snow effect.

The tool I had back in the day also created a color gradient in the background, resembling the pre-dawn sky, presumably using the copper. I think there are some other tools that might help me get this gradient part of the effect.

Also, I was sort of hoping to get this working on my workbench 1.3 nostalgia virtual machine. I think WBStars2 might require workbench 2.X or 3.X.

In any case, thank you for the thoughtful reply.

There were quite a few different copper effect background utilities available for Workbench to do this.

The Workbench preinstalled packages ClassicWB contain a good one you might like to investigate. I forget what the actual copper utility is called. Maybe PM Bloodwych and ask as he is the developer.

If you haven't played a classic game in years, it's never too late to start!
