I wouldn't recommend it. Nullmodem (serial or parallel) cable data transfer is extremely slow to the point of being painful.

However have a look at Amiga Explorer, which is part of the Amiga Forever emulation package. http://www.amigaforever.com/ae/ This use a serial null modem cable and allows you to trasfer ADF files directly from the PC over the cable to the Amiga floppy drive to write them back to disk, or to convert disks to ADFs.

The best solution however is for A1200 uses as they can use a cheap PCMCIA to CF memory card adapter to transfer files from PC to Amiga.

    Yes you can.

Amigakit even sell a multicard one ready to go: http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/...roducts_id=865

Although you should be able to get one much cheaper on ebay from China.

I would also highly recommend the EasyADF software Amigakit make and sell with their PCMCIA to CF kits as it works very nicely and straight forward. However there is a completely free way to do exactly the same thing if you got your own adapter as all the same software Amigakit use originates from Aminet and is free, but obviously means needing to be setup yourself, whereas Amigakit have done the hard work for you. I do however have a guide to this if needed.

I recommend the package from AmigaKit as well. Bought it myself years ago and it works like a charm. As Harrison wrote, you can save some bucks getting the stuff from other places, but I think it's worth paying a little bit extra to get everything ready to go. I often transfer files between my Amiga 1200 and PC and I thank heaven for CF-cards every time.. back in the days I used 720KB formatted floppies and those were both slow and unreliable.
