Cool. Noticed a couple of nice games added to the New clones list.

Lets just hope the MAME set updates are not too big.

Have you seen how big the MAME updates are for this release? Roms has jumped from 28GB to 40GB and CHDs has jumped from 142GB to 222GB. That is one big update!

And to make things even worse, the rom torrent only joins at 43.6%. Ouch!

This because they have added the LD CHD's to the CHD's folder. The whole CHD's update is 4GB more or less.

Well spotted for the CHDs. I hadn't started updating them yet. Just finished updating the roms. still not sure why the Rom set is suddenly so much larger though. Any ideas?

I noticed that too as I started the d/l the weekend. I knew that the CHD set was bigger due to the LD games they constantly add, but I don't know why it is also with the normal ROM set, I guess you have to look in their forums.

I wanted to join mine, and as it really only joint at 43%, I deleted it and started an whole new clean set, didn't want things to perhaps get too messy, and as it's a free torrent, it doesn't really matter. From time to time I just want to make a fresh download to keep it proper.

The Extras are also now over 13GB, probably it's the core & alternatives merged?

The update information doesn't really give any clues why the rom set is so much larger, but it updated perfectly fine from the .143 set. And moving the LD set into the CHD set and updating it worked fine too and only took a short time to update.

I also am not sure why the Extras was so large. Still, it didn't take long to update.

Pleasuredome do have a tendency to merge smaller torrent parts into single large torrents without making announcements clearly about it. I've mixed feelings if this is a better way or not to do it. I suppose it keeps it all together in one easy torrent, making future updates easier, but I imagine for anyone new trying to get into MAME or other emulation with larger sets it is a bit of a stumbling block. Unless of course the know someone who can do them a copy of the current complete set, as I did for Wots a while back.

I always hate when they start to alter the structures, add/remove folders, and even rename some files in a different way.

Gave up updating MAME CHD's a long time ago - v106 was the last I believe. Still update the ROMS from time to time if I think it's worth it for a recent MAME.

Do you guys really play these newer CHD games or is it just about collecting?

I find on MAME I tend to play all the classics, up to about Marvel vs Capcom as the newest. More recent 3D games in MAME never really appealed to me, as well as running dog slow most the time!

It's just about collecting, didn't try newer CHD games lately, but I guess they are still quite unplayable due to the hardware power they need.
