I'm still using my Logitech G500 and still think it is brilliant. It is the most responsive and comfortable mouse I've ever used. A bit expensive for some though. They do some nice cheaper mice though. Worth popping to your local PC World just to test them all out.

Regarding keyboards. I've been using a Logitech G15 for some time now and all love it. Again a bit overkill for some with its LCD screen and extra programmable buttons. But I program useful things like email and calculator into those, and have the Core Temp app displayed in the LCD window so i can see exacly what the CPU cores are doing, as well as other info.

If you haven't played a classic game in years, it's never too late to start!

I just had a look at the Logitech G500. Looks cool, but probably a bit too much for my needs.

Maybe I will pop in to PC World at some point. Not been in there for ages.

As for keyboards, I still love my IBM Model M. I'm typing this on a Cherry G80-3000 though. I bought the Cherry to go with my Raspberry Pi as the only spare USB keyboard I had was an Apple Pro Keyboard which is past its best.

Logitech G9X. Looks a little funky but having had those horrible lumpy mice you mention, this mouse absolutely rocks. Brilliant for Gaming & stunning in browsers. I highly recommend this mickey in all departments. Even Deb likes it & she hated just about every other mouse I have ever owned. I might have a M$ Sidewinder X5 kicking around somewhere if u were interested. You need to have huge hands tho.

I use a Rapoo keyboard lately, and I really like it so far, it's very small and wireless, has a bit of Apple design.
