    I've been rebranded!!!!

O.k. Not me but where I live.

Those damn meddling bureaucrats have been at it again. They've re-branded where I live from the Staffordshire Moorlands to The Staffordshire Peak District.

It's been called the Staffordshire moorlands for years because a) we're in Staffordshire and b) we have moors (you know the kind that's "Boys, keep off the moors, stick to the roads.") c) we want to be disassociated from Stoke-On-Trent which is a total sh1t hole.

The Staffordshire Moorlands has been in the Peak District National Park since it was created and if you ever come here (or probably pass through on your way to Alton Towers) you know you're in the Peak District because as these bloody great hills we call The Roaches. Why we had to be re-branded I don't know.

P.S. I think we should have a rant prefix so everyone is forewarned.

I wonder how much that cost for a group to discuss and agree to change the name.

Very pointless in my view, although could there actually be more to this than that? As the Peak District is now a National Park, anything falling within its boundaries should come under tighter building regulations and other restrictions. Renaming your area to Peak District might actually have been required to make it also meet this restrictions. My parents were lucky when the New Forest was turned into a National Park because the boundary edge of the newly created park ran along one side of a road, and they live just on the other side, so don't get affected by the Parks stricter restrictions.

If you haven't played a classic game in years, it's never too late to start!

This is the thing we've always been a part of the Peak District National Park and the areas within the Peak District National Park have the building restrictions (although if you know the right people and slip them enough cash there are no restrictions). Nothing has altered except they've done a Marathon and a Juicy Fruit except we still have the Staffordshire Moorlands District Council and Leek is still the "Pride Of The Moorlands" (Pride of the Moorlands when it's only competition is a few hamlets and a cowshed).

I just hate those damn meddling swine. We are not Snickers or Starburst we are Marathon and Juicy Fruit!!!!
