No. There are two forms of basic Atari 400 Basic and Basic for the Atari 2600. So you can actually programme in something for the 2600 or 400 but as I haven't played with it that much there is no way to save so it is nothing more than a toy. Also because the 2600 never had a keyboard the touch screen is emulating a 12 button keypad that was built for this package so it's totally frustrating and almost unusable.
