    Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix

I've just learnt that there will be a special edition re-release of Kingdom Hearts 2 in Japan on 29th March 2007. This will be called Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix and will add all of the extra features and additions made to the English version of the game, including all of the English voice acting. Plus it will also be adding a new card battle system.

The is only schedules for a Japanese release as most of the additions included in this Final Mix version were added for the Western release of the game anyway, but it might well still be worth getting hold of as it will be in English and it will include this new card battle system.

And whilst looking into this release I discovered that a similar release was made for the first Kingdom Hearts game, again named Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix. This again included much of the original western release additions not seen in the Japanese original. These additions included the English voice acting tracks and added 3 difficulty levels, a new camera system, a cut-scene skip feature, slight level design changes and stage additions, and a trailer for Final Fantasy X-2. It also included either a special music CD or a deck of Kingdom Hearts cards as part of its Limited Edition on the first day of release, and was also available in a Platinum Edition with stickers, a calendar of ary by Tetsuya Nomura, and a figurine of Sora.

So basically look at the Final Mix releases as similar to the International editions of the Final Fantasy games we have seen.

    a cut-scene skip feature
I think that this is a feature, that is more often used nowadays, and it's a good feature. You know how long some cutscenes can be, and if you lose a battle, you have to redo the whole again, and it can be quite annoying to watch the whole cutscene(s) again. This is definitely a feature that iom an RPG must have.

I didn't know of these releases of KH. But I'm not a big friend of those games, I kinda like the graphics, battle system, and the game itself, but I don't want to play an RPG with Disney characters, I think these characters are for kids games, and have nothing to do in an RPG. Perhaps an RPG for kids. But that is just my opinion, as the game sells very good, and I'm sure, a lot of adults love the game too. I then prefer settings like the Shin Megami Tensei series.

I also prefer settings like the Shin Megami Tensei series, and when the original Kingdom Hearts was released I was quite sceptical about an RPG being centred around Disney.

But after many good reviews appeared I did purchase the game and was very surprised about how good it actually was. It wasn't childish and definitely not easy. Young children would not get far at all in these games. Also although they are Disney themed, they are done very nicely and each world themed after a Disney film or cartoon works very well and is is even better if you know the film or cartoon each is bases on as they have added a lot of nice little touches to each world.

Sorry, I don't know. But you can pick the game up these days on ebay for about £12.

Welcome mafrek. Here's an eBay link to several auctions with KH Final Mix.
