    Dark Orbit

I've just come across this space game called Dark Orbit. It is a browser Flash based game, but an MMO too.

You start off with a small ship and can fly around your local map sector collecting ore and bonus items. You also have weapons and can fight other players.

As you get better you can join or form a clan for strength in numbers.

Your ship can be upgraded with better engines, shields, weapons, robots and drones, and you can purchase a better ship out of a range of 9 different ones.

Everything costs credits and you earn these by collecting the ore or obtaining credits from bonus items floating around in space.

I've only had a quick play to see what it was like, and so far it looks like it could be interesting.

If you want to check it out, go to http://en.bigpoint.com/games/darkorbit/

I'm known as classicamiga in the game and am on the United Kingdom server.

If you haven't played a classic game in years, it's never too late to start!

From the same developer is another space based game called Space Invasion.

This one goes for the grander scale of space combat, with you as the commander of your own galactic empire, with a mission to conquer uncharter planets, found colonies and build squadrons for battle.

So if you prefer space RTS game rather than action style games then this will probably appeal more than Dark Orbit does.
