What sort of prices are you looking to spend?

A fast ram only expansion is a great way to instantly double the speed of an A1200. However be careful if you buy an 8MB expansion that it is PCMCIA friendly, because many makes disabled the PCMCIA port when 8MB was in use due to a ram conflict.

If you can afford a bit more money I would highly recommend you look for a Blizzard 1230 MK-IV 50MHz accelerator as these are the best A1200 upgrade. Look to pay around £100-130 for one with 16-32MB fast ram installed. Faster 040, 060 and PPC accelerators are all too expensive in my view for what they off in terms of speed increase, whereas the 1230 gives a great increase in speed for an A1200 for the price, and is the accelerator that turns the A1200 from a low end Amiga into one that can do pretty much everything a classic Amiga is capable of.

Plus an 030 CPU retains a high compatibility with nearly all software, whereas faster accelerators reduce compatibility. An 030 can also be run in a standard A1200 case.

If you haven't played a classic game in years, it's never too late to start!

I already have a Phase 5 Blizzard IV 030/FPU 50Mhz with 32MB 60ns for my desktop A1200 (specs are Kick 3.1, 60GB 2,5' HD on Elbox 4Way buffered IDE, Phase 5 Blizzard 1230 IV, 3Com pcmcia network card).

What I'm looking for is a replacement for my Amitek Hawk that I sold (the card was partialy faulty, only capable off 4MB, send it to repair but no luck). So I'm looking for a card to put on my Elbox E/BOX 1200 Tower, just to be able to install OS 3.5 and WHDLoad. But open to offers on a 030 card.

The Tower specs are: Elbox E/BOX Black Tower, 230w AT PSU, Rev 1B motherboard, kickstart 3.1, pcmcia angle adapter, Nec 3550 dvdrw & 3GB HD on a 4 Way Buffered IDE, AT Keyboard, Amiga mouse.

For a towered A1200 it is really begging for a decent accelerator as you don't have any of the heat issues you would have with a desktop case. An 060 would be great in that system, but you do have to pay quite a lot for those these days. And even ram expansions are getting quite rare these days.
