Just a quick one...the RF cable that comes with an Amiga to plug into the TV - is that the same thing as what goes between my VCR and the TV? i.e. there's nothing special about it and the connectors are obviously the same?

Yes, all RF cables are exactly the same in terms of the cable used and the connectors. The Amiga shares the same RF connection at the rear of the A600/A1200 and the A520 modulator as all other home computers and consoles with an RF modulator built in.
However these RF connectors do use a different socket connector at the computer end compared to a VCR, so you couldn't use the same cable as you plug a VCR into a TV with.
