Probably just some "smart arse" marketing idiot thinking they are being ultra clever and trying to make the building look new, high tech and now. Sadly most marketing people are still copying old ideas to death and it just makes them look out of touch with reality.

I work with Marketing types a fair bit, and that's exactly the kind of thing they'd perpetrate. I hope that's not Trebuchet. Nothing says 'mid-90s web' like the Trebuchet font! (Well, actually, nothing says 'medieval siege engine' like trebuchet, but you know what I mean.)
