Wii Breakfast sums up perfectly what I think of the "Wii community" in general!
If you haven't played a classic game in years, it's never too late to start!
What I find rather depressing is that after Metroid Prime 3 Corruption that I really couldn't find any other somewhat serious gamer game that truly holds my interest.
I think even lesser of the Wii than I think of the Gamecube, at least that had the excellent GBA player which I still enjoy.
I will get the new Metroid Prime games with altered Wii controls but that's it.
Why are Nintendo handhelds these days far better than the larger home consoles?

That's easy. Their handhelds are underpowered as always and the games Nintendo develop for them rely on gameplay, which Nintendo is brilliant at.
The problem with the Wii is the control system. Most developers seem to think that games have be developed about the control system, rather than a game being developed from the idea of a game concept that can utilise the control system. Most are basically approaching it from the wrong way. Designing the control system, and then trying to bolt game onto it. That just creates boring, tedious games that can only be played for short 5 minute sessions.
