That's easy. Their handhelds are underpowered as always and the games Nintendo develop for them rely on gameplay, which Nintendo is brilliant at.
The problem with the Wii is the control system. Most developers seem to think that games have be developed about the control system, rather than a game being developed from the idea of a game concept that can utilise the control system. Most are basically approaching it from the wrong way. Designing the control system, and then trying to bolt game onto it. That just creates boring, tedious games that can only be played for short 5 minute sessions.
