If i want to put an 3,5" HD in a A600, i need external power right?
I i use any source of external power (pc psu as example) when i turn on the A600, should i turn on the external power right after the A600 or before? or it doesn't mater?

I would think it would be best to switch the external power on before you switch the computer on.

But couldn't you just use an adaptor to take power from the Amigas 44 pin IDE connector and plug it into the 3.5" HD's power socket? That should do fine as long as the IDE port/Amiga PSU is capable of supplying enough current. I'm not sure how much current THE IDE port can supply but I would have thought it would be enough as long as the Amiga's PSU is big enough.

That is exactly what I used to do. Have a splitter cable connected to the Amiga's floppy drive power connector on the motherboard, with one cable from the splitter still powering the floppy drive, and the other powering the HD.

But for your question, you should power up the HD before the system, otherwise it might nt find it.

If you haven't played a classic game in years, it's never too late to start!
