Flicker fixer Vs TV LCD at same price

    imagine:

    - Flicker fixer cost +/- 125 euros + shipping
    - TV LCD 15M07MITSAI - LCD 38 cm - 1024 x 768 / VGA cost 129 euros here in local store

    so, the price is similar...
If you want to play amiga games in pc tft monitor (gave one) or lcd tv (dont have one)
    what should i do?
buy the flicker fixer and connect to the tft monitor and be able to do evrything?
of buy the TV LCD and be able to play games/software thru scart?

TVLCD i would have tv channels as extra
flicker fixer would have better image quality in hi-res (i suppose (?))

flicker fixer also has another problem, the good ones are internal... i have 3 miggys... so i would be able to use only in one...

    give me your opinion

One thing you'll have to remember about the TV/LCD monitor. You will not be able to use higher resolutions than standard. Max screensize will be 640x512 possibly a lttle more with some cleaver editing whereas a Flickerfixer will allow you to have much greater resolution.

    The TV LCD says it's a 1024 x 768.

It's the Amiga hardware that's the limitation not the TV. You may be able to alter some of the monitor settings to increase it a little but you're not going to get the full benefit. I may be wrong but I don't think so.

As Buleste said, it is the restriction of the Amiga, not the monitor. If you were to connect the Amiga via Scart to an LCD TV/monitor then you would only have access to the lower TV resolution modes and not the VGA and other higher resolution screenmodes.

With one of these boxes it is true that you would still only have access to the same TV modes, but the secret is that you can use the higher resolution interlaced TV modes, which look really horrible to use normally due to the fast flicker, but with a flicker fixer will be flicker free and quite high resolution.

BTW, if you were looking for a decent TV/Monitor in one have you looked at the Samsung T2X0HD range? You can get a 22" T220HD, 24" T240HD and a 26" T260HD. With the 24 and 26" models having a very nice 1920x1200 resolution. And all of them are Full HD and have HDMI, Scart, component, composite etc connectors on them, and a digital tuner.

If you haven't played a classic game in years, it's never too late to start!
