to rom or not to rom??

    Hi guys,
i have been busy slaving at work to earn money to buy miggy parts. I am having a lot of fun deciding what to get. I have been trawling the net and have seen that a lot of folks are upgrading from Kickstart 3.0 to 3.1. Is my standard A1200 KS3.0 and should I upgrade to 3.1? what would be the benefits ? and is it needed for gaming?
    cheers peeps

It is definitely worth upgrading to 3.1.

The main benefits are that you can then install the later 3.1, 3.5 and 3.9 versions of Workbench on your A1200, and so take advantage of their improvements.

Games booted from floppy disk, or installed to HD will generally work the same using either 3.0 or 3.1 roms. Some of the last software and games might require 3.1, but it will be very rare.

If you haven't played a classic game in years, it's never too late to start!

As Harrison said 3.1 offers nothing for gaming but for workbench and just generally making the Amiga environment pretty it's priceless.
