"palacio" was the hotel here in Estoril/Portugal where fleaming wrote part of the book/movie

I don't know if I already told you, but when I was in Portugal the 2nd time, I was also in Estoril, and we stayed in the Palacio for one night, and it was gorgeous. We paid about 50.000 escudos for 1 night!! But it was worth the money. We wanted to do that once on our trip through Portugal, staying 1 night in a 5 stars hotel. Btw, did you know that the Palacio is mentioned in the book "100 best hotels of the world"?
