Burns Flipper wins September Poster of the Month

Congratulations to Burns Flipper for winning the September Poster of the Month competition.

We only had a couple of posts nominated in September but the winning post was still a good one. Found in the Wii twilight hack thread here.

    Congratulations

    And another new winner!

Look up the definition of "rimming". You should get it then DC.

I once got asked by a French colleague what a 'fluffer' was.

    I pointed him to urbandictionary.com.

    I love slang.

Yeah, you can't find "fluffer" in an ordinary dictionnary, but just looked at the site you said, and there it is, didn't know what a fluffer is either.

Slang is great, if you understand it. The french have a slang which is called "verlan", which means backwards. It comes from the word "Ã* l'anvers" (which means "backwards", "reverted" aso.). If a french guy is mainly speaking that slang, it's rather impossible to understand him, but the idea is great.

That sounds like something that was quasi-popular amongst school kids over here when I was a nipper, they called it 'back-slang' and it involved swapping the beginning and end of words, or saying the word backwards to confuse anyone that wasn't expecting it. I thought it was rubbish, personally and I can't think of any examples off the top of my head.

Some of the origins of slang or colloquealisms (spelling?) are very amusing
