Alien Breed rises again!

Team 17 has now made an announcement about this, without really saying much. It'll be called Alien Breed Evolution and will be using Unreal Engine 3. There's three screenshots that reveal it'll definitely be top-down like the old games. Also there's some mention about digital distribution which has people speculating that it'll be a Live and PSN release. CVG has the announcement and screens here.

Great to see this is still in the works and hasn't been shelved.

Looking at the screenshots you can easily be mistaken for thinking they are from Space Siege. Did anyone else think the same? Very similar game concept to Alien Breed though so it was to be expected.

good game but theres other much better games from the past i would like remakes of or sequels

Depends what you like. For a top down action packed shooter I don't think you could beat Alien Breed. Especially Alien Breed 92 SE. That was a great game.
