Is it going to be backwardly compatible with older GP2X software? If so I might be very interested in getting one. It might be a good alternative to the PSP for handheld emulation.

Why should it be backwardly compatible with older GP2X software, if newer software is coming out? And why should it not be? Opensource?
Being backwardly compatible will mean that it instantly has a back catalogue of software available for it at launch. Something that could entice me into buying it.
