    Game remakes.

Not so much a remake but the latest version of Virtual Grand Prix
Potatodust - a remake of a Pc remake of Stardust.
    The ultimate Amiga remakes list.

No it's a compilation of other lists, a link and a new game.

Inspite of the disparaging remarks made by Mr v85rawdeal i will add some more:-

head over heels 1 and 2

    wizball

Knight Lore (Yes i know it never came out on the Amiga but It's Knight Lore

    Pushover

Another list of remakes with a shed load of Ultimate: Play The Game remakes

I've played the Wizball remake and it's not bad at all. Better than the Amiga version. Wizball looks a little Evil though.

Knight Lore is Ok. not the best but still not too bad. It's strange seeing all those old levels again but in colour.

I used to love Wizball. Completed it too! I will have to try the remake.

It is always great to see so many fans of older games remaking them and updating them a bit with additional features and new levels, whilst still trying to retain the original game as much as possible. And they tend to on the whole do a better job than when the original companies try to do official remakes.

If you haven't played a classic game in years, it's never too late to start!

Someone's made a remake of Black Cauldron. Looks like they've just ripped the screenshots and recreated it in AGS. How utterly pointless! The original game plays just fine in ScummVM. I'd love to tell them that.

I agree. It is completely pointless to remake something so that is exactly like the original. What is the point? A remake should fix any problems the original had, update ideas where they can be, but without breaking the original game, and developing it a bit further than the original.

Its the same with music. Why release a cover if it sounds like the original? Some argue it isn't right if it doesn't sound identical, but I just can't see the point if that reasoning is used. Just listen to the original instead! Same with games.

I used to really like the Dizzy games on the Spectrum and CPC. They were good at that time, but hadn't really developed further or enough by the time the Amiga games appeared. A couple of them were quite good platform puzzle games.
