I have been wanting to update my PSP to the latest Dark Alex firmware since it came out, but I was put off by a problem. If you just run the custom updater it actually installs it on the modchip and not the PSP's own flash nand. This works ok for games, but will not run PSX games.

So what I really wanted was to have the custom firmware on the Sony Nand and the Epsilon software on the modchip for it's recovery menu support.

And now I have finally got the information I need on how to do this. Using standard eboot files for Sony released firmware I can use the Epsilon recovery menu to flash the Sony nand down to 1.5 and then I can run the Dark Alex custom updater to go up to 3.0.3 OE-A. Then finally do the updates to 3.0.3 OE-C.

Finally I will be able to run PSX games on my PSP. Going to try this later and see.
