    IDE cables (pc=amiga) ?

about the Amiga 2.5" IDE cables, are they the same as PC?
and the 3.5" ones? any difference? do they have cross wires or something like that..?
I would say they are the same.. but...? Are they?

Can i use all PC 2.5" and 3.5" cables in Amiga?

I have an IDE controller in my A1200 Tower, and from the controller to HD and CD-ROM i am using PC cables, but from the Mboard to the controller i am using a Amiga cable, i never try a different combination, but i looks the same cables. Are they?

All IDE cables are standard. The one thing you need to make sure is when you get a 40pin IDE cable you don't accidentally get a 80 PIN one by mistake.

As Buleste said, all IDE cables are the same but there are two types 40 pin and 80 pin cables. It is quite easy to spot the difference because the 80 pin ones have much smaller wires making up the ribbon cables and the 40 pin ones have much large wires and obviously only half as many.

If you haven't played a classic game in years, it's never too late to start!
