    Amiga 1000 audio Y-cable

I have an Amiga 1000 and a 1080 monitor. The Amiga has left/right audio outputs and my monitor just has a mono input. If memory serves I used to have a Y-cable to hook the stereo outs to the mono in.

This may be a silly question but, do I just use a normal Y-cable like THIS ONE?

Yes it should work, as long as that cable has the same input as your monitos you should not have any problem with it.
But for better sound performance, you should plug the cable from the Amiga to a sterio amplifier device. An old sterio with own speakers with rca cable input provides in most cases better sound then a simple monitor or tv. Dont you have an old radio? Back in the days when i got my A500 i had and Sony sterio CD player that in the back had rca input, i use to plug my A500 there an i had about 50W of sound, it was so cool.

Now i have a home cinema yamaha amplifier with 5.1 speaker output, with i plug my "monitor audio bronze" speakers, witch gives me a fantastic sound.

I could plug into into my sound system but I'm going for the authentic "stock" Amiga 1000 setup. It is a shame to lose the stereo aspect of the Amigas sound though...

I suppose I could be just as authentic and retro if I plugged it into a big massive 80's boom box
