I was thinking more as a cheaper way to warm your house at Christmas time. 360's make great heaters for their size!

What a great way to defrost a fridge... or a freezer... or a giant woolly mammoth you just happen to find lying around in the garden!

I have the Elite version, and I noticed that it doesn't heat up at all, after 2 hours it's still cooler than the PS3 after 10 minutes. The noise is the same though.
They must have changed the internals of the Elite quite a bit then. The standard 360's I've used can pump out a lot of heat.

Because I still find it a bit difficult to decide on what PC to buy (I am not questioning Harrison), I would really like to get a new console so that I have something to do.
But I understand that there will be a new Playstation 3 this yes, either a 60GB or 160GB, not sure.
So I am wondering very hard if I should wait or get a new Playstation 3 now.

There is an 80GB model coming very soon. Apart from the HD size, it is exactly the same as the current 40GB model. In my opinion, either is too small and you'll eventually want to install a bigger HD in it anyway (easily done). So the only question is, do you want to bother about that sooner or later?
How does the installing of bigger HD work?
And will it cancel the warranty?

As a couple of the others have said, I would recommend waiting until the end of the year. The price of the PS3 is definitely going to drop a lot by then. I've also not heard of any new versions of the PS3 being released other than the one Teho mentioned which is just the same model but with a bigger HD.
