    Lego Indiana Jones

Has any played this new Lego based game yet?

I've been playing it on the PSP and really enjoying it. If you have played either of the Lego Star Wars games then you will know exactly what to expect. The gameplay is exactly the same, except everything has been altered into the Indy universe. Instead of light sabres you now have control of the famous whip, along with weapons you pick up during missions, and the other characters you can control have access to a spade which is very useful as it can be used as a row whilst in boats or to dig up buried treasure.

And just like the Star Wars Lego games, the Indy game follows the first three films plots. Obviously the levels/missions are slightly different to the scenes within the films as they needed to be padded out slightly to give the player enough to do, but in general they follow the films plots and are easy to recognise, with the set pieces bringing a smile to any Indy fans face.

The first section for example sees you going through the jungle and then entering a cave complex to finally come upon a golden idol in the centre of the room, and after traversing the pressure pads in the floor and fighting off some very large spiders, removing the idol triggers the collapse of the caves so you have to escape. With the level ending with you running towards the screen, jumping chasms whilst the famous huge stone (in this case lego) balls rolls ever closer to you from behind. And when you are finally free from the cave the enemy are they to greet you. This is then followed by you jumping into the bi-plane on the river and escaping. A great fun.

And the game is held together via a central lobby just like the Star Wars games. In those it was the cantena, whereas in Indy it is the University where he teaches. A nice touch is when you select the missions. You navigate an old map and follow the red line to show your progress, just like the flying sequences in the films.

The game is definitely worth getting if you are a fan of Indiana films, and/or if you loved the previous Star Wars lego games.

It is available on a number of different platforms including PC, PSP, and PS2.

There is a trailer for the upcoming Lego Batman included with the game, and that looks just as good.

If you haven't played a classic game in years, it's never too late to start!

    That's quite an interesting idea.

But what about Lego Star Trek? That would be cool!

...and Lego James Bond. I can imagine loads of ways they could use that licence for some great fun.

    LMAO!

Would have a limited audience of 1!

They might actually be able to code multiple moves into that version though. Lego leg falling off... Lego arm falling off... etc...
