    selling my A3000

    I'm after and A4000, 030 or 040 I'm easy.

I've got an A3000D I'm willing to swap it's got a Opalvision Gfx card, Kickstart 3.1 ROMs and a 8MB Ram card giving 14MB total.

Or else I'll be looking to buy one. Just scouting around.

I recommend you post a wanted advert on http://www.amibay.com

I help to run AmiBay and can guarantee it is a good place to try.

BTW, wouldn't you want to keep the Opalvision card from your A3000 to use in the A4000 when you get one?

You can state you would like to part exchange something on AmiBay. And for wanted items you don't need to state a price. However when selling items on AmiBay you cannot ask for offers as we do not run it as an auction site and you have to state an exact price you wish to sell an item for.

    Hey Quagmire,

May I ask why you are considering swapping the A3000, as it's such a brilliant machine? Is it the lack of the AGA chipset, or maybe you have more than one A3000? I see that you are looking to buy as well, but couldn't help asking.

Best of luck with getting hold of an Amiga 4000 mate. I'm sure those nice people at AmiBay will help you out.

Yeah you're right it is just the AGA chipset, though if I have no luck finding a cheap A4000 I may just get a Picasso IV or Cybervision 64 but even these can fetch nearly as much as an A4000

    Anyroad, here's a pic of the A3000

forgot to mention I fitted an updated SCSI controller chip WD33C93A-PL 00-08 to cure the well known A3000 SCSI problems.

I've decided to sell the A3000 to fund the 4000, anyone have any idea how much I should ask for it?

    specs:
    A3000D standard 030 25MHz
2MB chip and 4 MB Fast + Supra 8MB Zorro RAM card giving 14MB total
KS 3.1 ROMS WB 3.1 installed
    1 GB SCSI HD
    upgraded SCSI controller IC
    Opalvision graphics card
casing and keyboard have slight yellow tinge.
Battery removed from mainboard, slight corrosion but cleaned and works fine.

I'm a bit unsure what you can expect to get for an Amiga 3000. After what I've seen in the past, these machines can be quite expensive. This is due to them being both rare and sought after.

Btw.. I think I read something about Amiga 3000 prices in the one of the last issues of Amiga Future.. Will check it now..

Ok, have now checked the Amiga Future issue. The article has a list of prices one can expect to pay determined by working condition and so on. Here's the list:

    - A3000: 225£
    - A3000UX: 250£
    - A3000T: 300£

These figures are, according to the article, based on eBay prices in the past.

Hope this was of some help.
