    Wii Disc Dumper

Today was released a method, how to read out Wii disks. Unfortunatly it takes about 50 hours, that's why some patience is required.

You need an LG-8164b or LG-8163b DVD-ROM drive, DVDInfo Pro (http://www.dvdinfopro.com) and an installed .NET framework.

The tool RAWDUMP.EXE makes, as the name says, a raw dump of the game and the tool UNSCRAMBLER.EXE decrypts the image.

The required files should be found via Google.

Quite cool. But also quite mad that it takes so long. But it will only be those dumping the images that will need to worry about that part. Once dumped everyone else can just enjoy the end result. That is if they find a way to actually run the decrypted images?

2 days!?!?! It'd be way faster to DL the images

Crazy stuff. But still impressive that a dumping tool has been released so soon. Next step modchips etc

    Thanks for the info.

Well that is the point mate. Someone uses the dumping utitlity to make the disc images, then we download the end result.

Looks like the Wii could indeed be the first next gen system to get completely hacked. They are definitely putting their weight behind trying.

    I know that

It was the comparative difference in the time taken that really surprised me.

Partly due to the fast DL speeds possible with p2p, esp torrents.
