    Earthquake!!!

I know that this is the wrong thread for this but about 00:58 the Staffordshire Moorlands (or at least me) experianced a 'quake that whilst not a major one shook stuff of the walls and scarred the shit out of me. The whole ****ing house rumbled and shook for about 5 seconds. Thats the second quake in about 10 years in a country that is no where near a fault line. I need a valium. Right thats me done for the night. Just thought i'd let you know.

First thing I heard about this was when people were talking about it on the radio (when I was asleep - I seem to be able to pay attention to the radio whilst sleeping), then it was on the news at 7.

I was asleep when the earthquake happened.

It would have been better if you'd been shaking the earth in your bed.

But it is true that i would have thought there would've been a few more earth moving for you puns.

Sadly we didn't experience it on the south coast. For some strange reason I've always wanted to experience a real earthquake/tremor.

I heard about it at about 1am when i got home from work this morning and switched on Sky News.

Felt it in the northwest, I was awake at the time.
Most disturbed to see my nice TFT wobbling, wasn't too concerned about anything else.

It's hard to read the screen when it's not keeping still.

It didn't wake my bird up, but went I crept into the room quietly, she woke up instantly to start winging about me not putting on my lamp too high. (Has 3 levels of strength).

    Typical.

I would have liked to have been awake to see what wobbled and how much, but I wouldn't have liked to have been woken by it, that would probably have been scary. It happened only an hour or so after I got to sleep. Maybe I should have stayed up a bit longer.

Does anyone know why we had an earthquake, with us not being on a plate boundry?
