Thanks for that info, but I really meant at the time way back in 1994-5 when I owned an A1200 I couldnt afford a 040 for it back then, or even did anyone port those games back then....I sold my A1200 and bought a 486 sx40 (later upgraded to a 486 dx80) and found that adequate for Doom II, Heretic and the like back then.
Although I do enjoy a spot of retro gaming on my A1200 tower Apollo 040/40 3.1 roms running OS 3.9, I am just rebuilding now in a nice shiny new case(mounted motherboard sideways this time instead of a unprofessional custom backplate I made the first time, and also so I can utilise the pcmcia slot for networking thats sticks out the back nicely). I really dont want to revisit those other than maybe outta curiosity to see how they run. Really right now the only Amiga upgrade I want to consider is a fast IDE interface instead of the slow buffered one I have.
