Yesterday morning, driving to work it was sunny and the car said it was 21C outside.

Today, it is cloudy and windy and the car said it was 6C outside.

These wild temperature variations are possibly the worst part of the area that we live in, it's the speed and the scale of the change that gets me....

I will concede this, to be fair; one's own kids can be incredibly annoying, other peoples kids are even worse.

Totally agree with that. I love my son but I can't stand most other children. Lol

Regarding weather is been very random here too. We had 75 mph storm the other night but then 18 degrees and sunning the following morning. Then raining heavily in the afternoon. And only 9 degrees this morning.

Heh. I'm kind of opposite. I don't want children of my own, but I'm uncle to eight little bastards and I love them. And I think they love having this strange uncle with shelves full of videogames and comic books from all eras.

True. But seeing them from time to time is fine, don't mind visiting them in Finland, but having them here, at your own place is different. I have to admit that I'm a very pedantic person too, everything organized, and now, all of a sudden, everything is a bit messy. I would raise my children differently, but I won't blame them, everybody IS different. I don't mind if they cause 'havoc' at their place, but please not here. It's not about the running around and crying so much, but I guess you get my point.

Still 4 more days to go, and tomorrow they'll leave early as they wanna visit some castles here. Weather got slightly better, only 50% rain precipitation. Still shit weather for this time, even in Luxembourg.

Btw, my girlfriend really wants to have children, already since long time, I never wanted, and this isn't helping me, because now, she wants them even more.

Her plan is, to have this boy of the older sister, one in the plans from the younger sister, and then our own, growing up together and eventually play for Finland ice hockey national team together

Oh, that's going to be a tough one to reconcile.

Me and Lady T, we were always keen to have kids, but also we were sure to wait until the right time - and I'm glad we did.

I was happy for 2 children, but Lady T wanted 3.

    Guess how many we have....

    Yes....

    Three

I understand some people don't want children and I respect that. However I think it is a huge issue in a relationship when one really does want children and the other doesn't. It will always endup with some resentment.

I also think it's a recent generational issue because our generation and younger have had a lot more than previous generations, which has led us to be more selfish. Especially with more people remaining single into their 30s+. They already have their house, job and social lives set out and are fairly happy with how it's all setup. And the idea of that all being disrupted by having a child isn't so much a scary thought, but more a huge disruption to the bachelor lifestyle. Knowing you would have to give up some, if not a lot of your creature comforts, as well as personal space, to accomodate a child.

This is very different to our parents era where most started out with very little, and got married fairly young and got their first house together. Building their life as a family from the beginning and developing their adult life around that. It's very different to develop an adult life first and then try to alter it later to share it with someone else. That's modern society for you.

Personally I always wanted children, but was also a bit selfish in not wanting to alter my freedom to do whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. But to get around that we started out by getting a new house together, so it was a fresh start. Moving into a partner's existing house is never ideal because you always feel you are living in their house, by their rules. It's not your own because you didn't put a stamp on that house together. And with a new house you can then consider there will be children at some point from the start. Not having to alter everything later.

I did always want children, but was never that comfortable around other people's. Never knowing what to say to them. But having your own is very different. It's impossible to say until you do. I still hate most other children, but being a father is an amazing thing.

I sent a letter to a public sector organisation whom I consider 'unreliable'. They insist that they didn't receive it, so I filled in the lost mail claim form on Royal Mail's website to claim back the 58p that I spent on the 2nd Class stamp to send said letter.

I wonder if they'll cough up.

Well, much to my amazement, I just got in the post, a book of six first class stamps worth £4.02. Not bad considering I only claimed for 58p.
