Limited Icon colours

Thought ide do a clean up today and format my system drive and stick WB3.9 on.

All is ok, however all of the icons are only 8 colour.

Ive changed the screenmode to 256 but that hasnt worked. Any Ideas?

I tend to have the same problem, but I am pretty sure it only happens to some icons.

Someone can tell me how do I replace a image of the disk icon in WB 3.9 by a image of a icon in PNG format?

The only way to have png icons on 3.9 is by using Powericons which is available from aminet here and whilst it is pretty you need a powerfull Amiga to run it on or a fast emulator.

I have a 68040/40 MHz with AmigaSys 3 Plus that I think already have power icons installed but want to replace some icons with png images and don´t know how to replace the icon image of disk icons maybe with someone help..

As far as i can tell it would just be a case of renaming the original .info file and replacing it with the new .info file. From what i can tell Amigasys doesn't come with powericons as standard and unfortunatly an 040 is a little too slow. It's just about runnable on an 060 but it's mainly for MorphOS.
