    Playing PS2 on a laptop?

Is it possible to display the output from your PS2 on your laptop? It would be excellent if I could, that way, my gf and I could play games (playing FFXII atm) without having to be interrupted by noisy housemates while at her place

Oh yea, btw: HP Pavillion dv1000

    ports:

    3 USB Ports
    1394 Port
S Video Out (If only it was IN )
    External monitor port
Expansion Port 2, which can accept: USB 2.0, 10/100 Ethernet, Consumer IR, Composite TV and S-Video TV

I don't think that this is possible, you need at least a video input. You can try the PS2 emulator PCSX2, but a decent PC is required, but perhaps your HP Pavillion dv1000 is powerful enough. Of course you would also need a BIOS with the emulator, but it shouldn't be a problem of finding one.

PCSX2 is good, but it still struggles to run games at full speed, even on a fast PC.

The only way you can pass the image from a PS2 onto your laptop screen is if you have a video input on the laptop. What is the TV ports you mention? Does the laptop have a TV card built in? If so they often can accept input signals. Ottherwise you would need to buy a cheap video capture card (USB ones are available), or a TV card that has video in.

If you haven't played a classic game in years, it's never too late to start!

You can buy this device compatible with PS2 !!!

    http://www.lifetech-world.com/Loja/Produtos/Detalhe/782

or a smaller device, i think one of this can do the job:
    http://www.usbgear.com/USB-Video-Capture.html

But the first site is better the lifetech i think is cool, but no so small device.
