    Amiga Shops - Recommendations

There has been quite a lot of discussion concerning where to get hold of Amiga hardware and software lately. Some find their stuff through E-Bay, whilst others turn to the ordinary shops. That's why I thought it might be interesting for all of us to share our experiences about this.

In this thread, you can post your recommendations concerning the different Amiga shops that are still in business. If you have a good experience (or a bad), please post them here for others to read. As shops are operating through E-Bay as well, one can also recommend sellers there that are reliable.

I'll start this thread by recommending Amigakit. Not long ago, I ordered two joypads for my CD32. The website was easy to browse and they had a wide selection of both hardware and software available. I quickly found what I was looking for and ordered it a few minutes later. After the purchase was done, I started receiving e-mails concerning my order. They even notified me once the joypads was sent through the post! It didn't take long before the stuff arrived, and the quality of the items was good. Needless to say, I tried them out at once with a few games. I would therefore like to recommend Amigakit to others that are looking to buy Amiga hardware and software.

I can also recomend AmigaKit. Both my orders arrived with no problems. They also sell stuff on ebay.

I also like Vesalia (www.vesalia.de). Never had any trouble with them and there customer support is (as I have said before), excellent.

The Commodore store on ebay mostly have Commodore 64 stuff, but I bought some Double density disks from them and they arrived quickely. http://stores.ebay.co.uk/The-Commodo...Q3amesstQQtZkm

I ordered some A1200 motherboard shielding and a power cable from Amiga Retro Experience on ebay and that arrived quickly as well. They have a good selection of stuff. http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Amiga-Retro-Experience

I order from Amigakit yesterdar, website is quite good, payments with paypal, excelent.

I bought my A1200 from Ebay, as long as you pick a good seller, (it's easy to see), you should not have any problem. I also bought 4 games, swatchs etc... never had a problem.

As with everyone else, AmigaKit and Vesalia are the two I would highly recommend. I've ordered many items from both stores and they have both always been fast and efficient and I've never had any problems.

Ebay can be a bit hit and miss, but as long as you are careful and do some research into what you want to buy, and make sure the item being sold is exactly as you want then you shouldn't have any problems. It is however a good idea to only buy from sellers with a very good reputation and a feedback over 100.

The shop "Der Kabelspezialist" (cable specialist) has a lot of cables for the Amiga and the C64. Although it's a german site, you should be able to recognize the cables.

Another one is "Doc's Hardwarekiste" (Doc's Hardwarebox), which has also some stuff like cables or PSUs you might need at a certain moment.

Great. It is becoming harder to find Amiga specific cables these days so those two could come in very handy.

I know of those two, but haven't used them either.
