Hello all,
Probably a very unusual title but I can explain.
I am a fan of the Metroid games for some time now, I got addicted through Super Metroid and have since played almost all the games (exception is that pinball games), I even bought a Game Cube in order to play Metroid Prime.
Right now I am waiting for Metroid Prime 3 Corruption, the 'conclusion' to the Prime arc.
What I find rather frustrating is that we European fans (and Australian/New Zealand fans for that matter) have to wait two months extra while in the States the game has been released on the 27th of August.
Metroid is one of the bigger Nintendo franchises and thought not really a casual gamer game is still has quite some following, reason enough to release the game as quick as possible here you might say.
This September the long awaited Halo 3 will be released and I am pretty sure that a lot of gamers who haven't bought an Xbox360 will buy one now so that they can play this game.
Nintendo could have played into this as Metroid looks a little like Halo, perhaps selling several more Wiis before Halo 3 is finally released.
But now Metroid Prime Corruption will be released 'relatively' not so long after Halo 3 and because of the Xbox360 title Metroid will probably be ignored by most people.
I can't help but see this as a marketing mistake by Nintendo.
Anyway, I am rather pissed about the fact that American gamers will probably have played this game to death when it finally arrives here in Europe, it gives me the feeling that the big companies treat Europeans as second rate.
