Hi all
Does anyone know where I could pick up a Blizzard 1230 mkIV and what sort of price i would be looking at? Alternatively if these are quite rare are there any equal accelerator cards by different manufacturers that are easier to aquire?

Such heroic nonsense
They often pop up on ebay for around £90 including some ram installed, usually anything from 32MB to 128MB.
Amigakit did have them for sale until recently, but they don't have any on their site at the moment. www.vesalia.de have also often had them in stock. Sadly they don't have any either.
Another make you could get is the Viper 1230 Mk V. Very similar product and there is one currently for sale on ebay here.
Another make of 68030 accelerator was Apollo, which is also ok to get. Although both of these makes are not as popular as Blizzard as most people claimed their build quality wasn't quite as good.

Blizzard 1230 IV - 125 Euros ....
A500 - A600 - A1200
Good find. That is actually a very good price for a new one.
Also if you look at the description another good reason to get a Blizzard 1230 IV instead of other makes is because of the SCSI Kit expansion you can get for it. As well as adding the ability to then use SCSI devices with the Amiga, it also adds an extra ram slow allowing up up to 256MB of fast ram!

No way. The accelerator cards hold their price much better than the actual A1200 system itself. Even when combined on ebay a basic unexpanded A1200 will go for about £40, whereas one that includes a blizzard accelerator will normally go for over £100.
This is mainly due to the accelerator cards being quite rare compared to the actual A1200 which is easy to find.

The other thing is that the accelerator cards are not slowly getting rarer so will keep going up in price.

I think I paid about £80 for mine.
If that one in the shop is brand new, then EUR125 is good.
I might be selling my 1230 sometime is the next year though to help fund either a 1260 or a PPC.
Cool. If you upgrade to one of those are you considering a tower conversion Steve?
