Yes, I use a Canon Speedlite 430EX II. Brilliant zoom flash and well worth the money.
The more expensive 580 isn't worth it unless you need the extra range and features, and the cheaper 320...
You should be able to get some very nice wide angle low light shots with that lens. Plus some great shallow depth of field. How many blades does the lens have?
