That sucks. Please let us know how you get on with the second one.
I gather some amount of illness is normal with vaccines. However, it can be enough to put you off. Last time I had a vaccine...

I gather a lot of those Kingston Data Travellers are pathetically slow. I didn't realise that when I bought it. I actually just got one of the cheapest the supplier had. I'll keep it around for use...
I bought a Rode Lavalier Go microphone from Amazon. It arrived earlier, and I got an email saying:
Hi Stephen,
Your parcel has been posted through your letterbox.
How was your delivery?

I installed the new Samsung NVMe SSD. Here's a quick benchmark I ran in Gnome Disks:

Not bad.

In contrast, here is a ridiculously slow Kingston USB3 flash drive...
Probably. Of course, locked down hardware is nothing new. One of the old ThinkPads I got for free a couple of years ago does it. I changed the mini-PCI wireless network card out for another one and...
Bargain!
What's the deal with the Apple monitor stands? I heard a while back that they introduced a ridiculously expensive one.
I wonder if they'll sell many what with the supposed move away...
I've ordered a 4TB Seagate Ironwolf drive and a 500GB Samsung 970 Evo Plus.
I was going to get a 2TB drive but its not substantially more money to get 4TB. That should last me a while. The SSD is...
I thought you'd like it. What is interesting, is that I actually have a DisplayPort cable. I have never used DisplayPort. I think the cable came with my monitor, but I never used the cable because I...
Yes, I just duplicate the drive onto another drive every so often. So any backups may not be 'up to date', but if there were to be a catastrophic failure, it will only be recent stuff that gets lost.
I haven't considered that. I think it would be a bit overkill for my needs. I'd rather just have a decent sized HDD/SSD in my main PC. Said PC is accessible over the network anyway.
I need some new storage.
I've been doing a lot of video recently which has been eating up my HDD space. Any recommendations?
I might see about swapping my SATA HDD for an M.2 one, then I can...
My first impressions are that its not going to be much better.
As usual I got plenty of chocolate. We just had chicken for dinner.
How's the Pi 4? I haven't got anything newer than the B+. I keep thinking I should get a newer one.
Mark Steele seems to be the main proponent of the 5G thing. He is a self proclaimed "weapons expert" who served time in prison for shooting a young girl, and has a degree in psychology. Maybe the...
How's everyone managed with Lockdown No 2? Judging by the number of people around, I think most people are ignoring it. I certainly am, although with so many business closures there's not a lot to go...
I can't really comment on new ones. My last mobile phone purchase was a Nokia 6150 which I got on ebay for £3 a few years ago. Despite its age it has a remarkably good battery :).
If I were to get...
I noticed a post box in Doncaster the other day which had a sticker on it which said "Priority Post Box; Helping the NHS". Any idea what that is in aid of? I'm sure the post box was no where near any...
Royal Mail refund time again.
379 days ago I sent a complaint letter to an unreliable private business. Recently they revealed that they never received it . I attempted to put a claim...

This cafe in Doncaster had a good solution to the recent toilet roll panic buying.

Is it one of these?

If so, its nothing to be worried about, but you should change your password to be on the safe side....
I don't think there is a definitive answer for masks.
If you have symptoms, wearing a mask will help prevent you from breathing/coughing on other people. But if you don't have it, a mask probably...
I see Boris has tried once again to stop people from going out and mixing with each other.
I had a Boris-sanctioned trip to the doctors' to pick up my Mum's prescription this morning, followed by...
Schools are closing round here as well, and buses and trains are reducing their services. There are a few businesses which have closed or seriously cut back but most seem to be operating as normal.
...
No. I don't watch TV news anymore. Not that I would take Boris seriously anyway.
Define 'lockdown'? I've just been out for a walk and it looks like business as usual for many people round here....
