I add a table here for myself, so I can always edit the new games I found to have a better overview. As I'm currently adding screenshots alphabetically, I come across of some non existing games in our database. I'm of course also using the spreadsheets to add the games, but here, also everyone can see what games have been added recently, instead of looking through the spreadsheets.
Date Games added 19.04.2007 Abduction, Access Denied 25.04.2007 Age of Sail
Action Stations!
From it's doc file: "a tactical-level simulation of naval surface combat for the period 1922-1945."
Zzap Magazine review: http://amigareviews.classicgaming.ga...onstationszzap
Demoniak
Adventure game, commerical release according to Liste des jeux. (Game is also listed at other Amiga sites)
Squibbly Shibbly
Platformer published by Miracle FX. Website here. Reviewed in Amiga Format Issue 99 (scan on AMR) but not listed at Liste des jeux. Was added to HOL yesterday although interestingly:

I have Action Stations! and already tested it, but I didn't take any screenshots, because it had no title screen, and is only text based if I remember right. That was the main reason I didn't add it yet.
I will add the other two you've posted. Thanks.
EDIT: Games added.
When I get chance I will definitely need to go through the games lists from the old site and double check if we are missing anything else on the new one.
BTW, just a quick bit of nostalgia. The old site didn't use a database as such at all. I coded all of the game entries into php arrays on the actual site pages (that was before I had access or experience of databases with php and mysql). It was a nightmare to update and required much more work than the current site to add new features, as I had to amend the array structure and the php code functions that used it, although the actual pages did build themselves automatically from the code and I only ever needed to edit the arrays.
Thanks.
BTW: I searched for Squibbly in the main search box (the one under the classicamiga logo), and when I clicked on the entry from the search results I got "You are not authorised to view this resource. You need to login." I wasn't logged in at the time, but I'd imagine it's meant to be publicly accessible and viewable.
Indeed, it should be visible.Quote:

I've just taken a look at this search error and I think it is a bug in the latest version of jReviews.
If you are not logged in and go into the games section, you can navigate to the Squibbly Shibbly game without a problem and view it. You can also use the search box within the games section and search for the game, find it, and view the page. It just seems to be when using the main site search that it doesn't allow access to the page.
The thing with jReviews is that it replaces the search bot that is used by Joomla for all site searches, so that it adds all custom jReviews fields from the game and demo sections into the search results. I therefore think it is this jReviews search bot that is the problem. I will contact the developer to find out.
Another few missing games:
Defender 2 - http://hol.abime.net/304 & http://www.lemonamiga.com/games/details.php?id=2363
Defender (Acid Software version) - http://hol.abime.net/5508
Defender (Ratsoft version) - http://hol.abime.net/3890 & http://www.lemonamiga.com/games/details.php?id=2501
Revenge of the Mutant Camels - http://hol.abime.net/487
I will have to restart adding screenshots again, I had some "other" work to do for CA lately, but since my additions are done so far, I can again concentrate on the games section, probably next week, as Oz also isn't here (at work).
I then will also add those games.
EDIT: I just had a look at Obligement, and Defender (Ratsoft version) is stated as shareware and a version by Wicked Software as commercial. Also Revenge Of The Mutant Camels (Llamasoft) is shareware, and Revenge Of The Mutant Camels 2 (Mastertronic) is commercial and present on our site.
EDIT 2: I now added the 2 Defender games. But what is the Acid Software version one? Can't reach HOL from here.
Just found the link again to add games myself :doh2:
Anyway, http://www.classicamiga.com/index.ph...4280&Itemid=83 is the Acid version, I'll get screenshots done for it soon. Have you started doing screenshots for any of the other new entries? If not I'll do those as well.
 yep, you can also do it.Quote:

Nope, I haven't even verified if I have the games here. You can do them if you want, thanks :thumbs:Quote:

I've an idea for staff notes that might make our lives easier. I have posted a new topic about this in the site content forum. Please have a read and see what you think.
I saw that you added Defender, but I wanted to say something, already a longer time ago, but it never happened.
I see that you (AlexJ) and Submeg also add 1 only to the simultaneous players, I only added something to that entry when the game has an actual 2 player mode or more, when there is no 2 player option, I left it blank, as it also saves us one entry line.
Ok good, I get it. But I never did like this in all my entries :(Quote:
I've taken the 2-players, 1 simultaneously to mean the games where two players take it in turns to play a level or whatever (i.e. no split-screen) but the game acknowledges that 2 players are playing (separate scores, position in the game etc.).
I also only use the simultaneous field if more than one player can actually play the game at the same time. For me I think that if the game can be played by more than one person, but they can only play it one at a time, then it does not support simultaneous gameplay at all, so there is not much point in selecting "1 only" in the simultaneous gameplay field as it means the same as the game not supporting the feature.
You could argue that I was the one who included the 1 only option in the field, which is very true and I actually do not mind if you include it as 1 only, or just miss the field out, as it basically means the same either way.
That was exactly my thought, but it doesn't indeed matter that much.Quote:

I've had a look through my collection and I seem to be missing the commercial Defender game (http://www.classicamiga.com/index.ph...4278&Itemid=96)
According to what DC's found on the French website, it's by Wicked Software and was released in 1987. Anyone have the adf for this?
Have to look for an adf when I'm home, I've only Defender 2 by Llamasoft here at work.
You dont have Christmas Lemmings thats was an awsome game.
Christmas Lemmings was a coverdisk special and not a full game release, but don't worry, it will be added as we get to it. We were first concentrating on commercial games and then going back and adding whatever else we can find including coverdisk exclusives, shareware and freeware.
I think I'm right in saying Christmas Lemmings was also known as Holiday Lemmings.
You could be right, although there were quite a few special edition Lemmings demos created for magazine coverdisks, so they could be different.
Christmas lemmings was a cover disk special it had Christams Scene themed maps and Music and all the lemings had Santa hats.
Holiday lemmings was a different game.
Right I've worked out there were 4 Xmas Lemmings games:
Xmas Lemmings {1991} (4 levels - two Xmas themed, two from OhNo...)
Xmas Lemmings 1992 (4 levels - all Xmas themed)
Holiday Lemmings 1993 (32 levels)
Holiday Lemmings 1994 (64 levels inc. the 32 from '93)
'93 and '94 are on the website as they were sold commercially, '91 and '92 will be added at some point in the future as they were non-commercial. If you're willing take some screenshots of the game in WinUAE (Between about 10 and 20 showing a variety of levels and a couple of the menus, in PNG format about 640x512 in size) I'll add the entry in.
`I hadn't realised there were so many Xmas themed versions of Lemmings released. Were there also some other released for other times of the year? Maybe Halloween or Easter? I seem to remember there was some game released on a coverdisk that has a theme other than Xmas, but I'm not sure what it was. Will have to look through my coverdisks and see.
Xmas themed versions of Lemmings were great and the Xmas music and having all the Xmas lemmings wearing Xmas hats was awsome.
The Xmas themed Cannon Fodder/Sensible Soccer demo was even better though.
Christmas cannon fodder and sensible soccer was awsome. I had look at my amiga collection and there was alot of christmas themed games on amiga James Pond 2 had christmas themed levels and sleepwalker had alot of christmas themed levels aswell and there was many more christmas themed games.
Christmas Cannon fodder did not go down to well though at the time for various reasons.
But I think it was awsome I love Christmas and christmas themed games.
I don't, I hate to pretend to be happy only because everybody is in christmas mood.Quote:

I love the spirit of Christmas the lead up to it, but always feel that when you get to the actual Christmas Day that it is mostly a big anti-climax.
Added Liberation to the site (Commerical, 1994)
That's odd that we missed that game when initially adding them all to the site. Well spotted.
I did wonder if we had entered it as Captive 2: Liberation, but that isn't on the site so is quite a mystery how we completely missed it out. Great game too. I played than on the CD32 for a long time.
Nice find, who actually did the section L?? And the winner is... Harrison  Yippie, it wasn't me.
/me starts dancing.
Ah, but who did section C? (Captive 2) ;) he he
 Darn.
For a change, here's a possible duplicate entry:
Celica GT Rally (1990)
Toyota Celica GT Rally (1991)
Looks identical except for the year. I can't find any references to Toyota Celica GT Rally elsewhere though except at Obligement.
Found the following on Moby Games for Toyota Celica GT Rally
I think they are one and the same game.
Oh well, that can always happen, better having a double entry than a missing though ;)
How about ROCKSTAR ATE MY HAMSTER?
Was that a demo/coverdisk as I only had a copy.
It's there (called Rock Star Ate My Hamster). Putting Rockstar as one word possibly confused the search.
I can delete duplicate entries easily from the backend. Which of the two do you want to keep? And I will delete the other.
I think it's probably best to keep Celica GT Rally (more fields filled out and screenshots already attached) and delete Toyota Celica GT Rally. I've added a note with the alternative title to Celica GT Rally.
OK. I will remove the other one now.
I didn't found "Space Ace" on the main site, the game is very similar to "Dragon's Lair". I think the graphics were even better.
Space Ace was released after Dragon's Lair and is also a Laserdisc arcade game. The graphics in the original were the same, it was animation. The game also had the same gameplay as Dragon's Lair. If you want more information about Laserdisc games, have a look at the Daphne emulator which allows you to play the games on your PC, assumed you have the ROMs for it, which are downloadable at Pleasuredome for FREE (almost 60GB though).
