Eating a King Pot Noodle.
So do you like them or hate them?
Never liked them. I always thought the noodles part reminded me of eating moist paper.
I've not eaten one for many years now, but did select "They are OK" because I have eaten them in the past and thought they were OK for a quick snack. Although I used to prefer the curry pot rice.
But these days I would much rather cook some real noodles and eat those. They taste much nicer, don't take much longer to cook, and you know that the ingredients you include are real vegetables and food, whereas the dried stuff that reforms with the hot water in a pot noodle never quite looks or tastes like real food, and is hard to identify.
Actually now I come to think of it I should really have voted no! Oh well...
You forgot to place an option for:
"never try it, i dont have it in my country" :(
You are definitely one lucky lucky bastard! The world would be a better place had it never been invented.
For those of you who don't know what it is and have never encountered it, Don't worry about finding out as you are much better off without knowing. ;)
I think the only time I had Pot Noodle was when we were doing about quick meals in Food Technology at school and I had a third of a pot (We had to share it between 3 of us)
I actually enjoy pot/cup noodles every now and then. Perfect for lazy people!
Yep, that includes me too. I eat pot noodles from time to time, but not very often. It's great when you don't have much time to make anything else.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the student delicacy of Pot Noodle goto Pot Noodle.
I my, no wonder we dont have any female members, if threads like this are the in thing, ;).
My favourite has to be the Hot Noodle...

Thats OK, you should see the various models I have made from them!
The advertising slogan was something along the lines of
The slag of all snacks.
A very apt discription.
My brother got a Turkish lad to try when he was on holiday in Turkey.
He wasn't impressed.
They generally eat fresh food every day and couldn't understand how we could eat dried food mixed with water.
Accused my brother of trying to poisin him.
How right he was.
One day I will publish my Pot Noodle Sandwichâ„¢ recipe to the world.
I've noticed Posh Noodles have disappeared of late.
Maybe they had to for legal reasons. Misleading descriptions.
I'm sure there was a limited edition for bad electricians---- Shock Noodles.
And then there was some for people recovering from Rhinoplasty--Snot Noodles.
Or the Vietnamese version---Hot Poodles.
Cambodian dictator flavour -- Pol Pot Noodles

Parody song lyrics to be sung to the tune Pop Music by M
Pot, Pot, Pot Noodle
Pot, Pot, Pot Noodle
Mucky stuff, yucky stuff
Bogie in a powder
You're pourin' in some water
Turns it into chowder
Let's get a milkshake, fill it up with glutamate
Buy some try some whoops-upset-tum
Chuck it up, Pot Noodle
Chuck it up, Pot Noodle
Scoobie Doobie Doo is
(in a Pot Noodle)
Snot, snot, goo is
(in a Pot Noodle)
Scoobie Doobie Doo is
(in a Pot Noodle)
Snot, snot, goo is
(in a Pot Noodle)
Lap dog, bulldog, shnauzer, poodle
Every kind of dog is in a Pot Noodle
Chuck it up, Pot Noodle
Chuck it up, Pot Noodle
Pot, Pot, Pot Noodle
Spewing in the subway
Most unappealing
So full of additives
I'm on the ceiling
Wanna have a full stomach
Don't wanna throw from it
Eenie meenie tummy pain
Oops here it comes up again
Chuck it up, Pot Noodle
Chuck it up, Pot Noodle
Scoobie Doobie Doo is
(in a Pot Noodle)
Snot, snot, goo is
(in a Pot Noodle)
Scoobie Doobie Doo is
(in a Pot Noodle)
Snot, snot, goo is
(in a Pot Noodle)
Eat it...
Now you know what to say...
Chuck it up, Pot Noodle
Pot, Pot, Pot Noodle
All around the world
Wherever you are
Eat in the street (anything you like)
Eat it in your car (in the middle of the night)
Eating in the car park
Driving down the fast lane
Wind down the window
Look out! it comes up again
Ain't a tasty snack
I prefer a six-pack
If it always comes back
It's kind of a drawback
Chuck it up, Pot Noodle
Chuck it up, Pot Noodle
Scoobie Doobie Doo is
(in a Pot Noodle)
Snot, snot, goo is
(in a Pot Noodle)
Scoobie Doobie Doo is
(in a Pot Noodle)
Snot, snot, goo is
(in a Pot Noodle)
Chuck it...
Lap dog, bulldog, shnauzer, poodle
Every kind of dog is in a Pot Noodle
Chuck it up, Pot Noodle
Chuck it up, Pot Noodle
Pot, Pot, Pot Noodle
Pot, Pot, Pot Noodle
Now... throw it away before you
Throw it up
Pot, Pot, Pot Noodle
Pot, Pot, Pot Noodle
For some reason that song just put me off from ever trying Pot noodle ever again!
Whereas it made me very hungry now!!!
I used to like pot noodles but prefferd Pot Rice (as mentioned by Harrison) much nicer although the pot looked nigh on empty :hmmm:
That is a good point. There never did seem to be much in the rice ones.
BTW, what ever happened to the rice one? Was it discontinued?
check all about Pot Noodle here and any related varieties here ;)
A Wiki on Pot Noodles who would have thought it
Pot Rice indeed was phased out a sad loss to me :o

I think it's harder to find something not on Wikipedia now although it's often wrong. Just looked up my nearest town and it has Leek as having the most pubs per square mile of any other town in the U.K. This is wrong, it used to have the most pubs but not any more unfortunately.
Did it really used to take that long before you could eat it? I don't think I would have the patience to wait that long these days! Much easier to stick the 2 minute rice in the microwave these days. And you know that what you are getting is real rice! ;)Quote:
Pot Rice was prepared by adding boiling water to the plastic pot. The dried food would start to swell, and after two minutes the mixture was stirred, and a sachet of sauce added. After three further minutes, the Pot Rice was ready to eat.
Thats because Pot rice was made out of cardboard. Even the chicken.
Ah, so it took longer for the hot water to dissolve it. It all makes sense now!
